1993 5.0 302 TBird shuts off why?

My 94 TBird shuts off when it's hot out but the temp Meter never goes to hot it get to the middle and she shuts off
when I'm sitting. Even at running temp doesnt hit the middle. But could it shut off because I may need a new
thermastat? What could be the reson for this? Oh and when she shuts off I starte her rite back i do wait a couple off
seconds before starting back up again.
