2006 Explorer XLT Audio system
The factory installed Audio system (CD/Radio) LCD gone out. It first started with less illumination (dim)
and now it's totally gone.
the buttons shows light but LCD not, i am unable to know the time, track info,etc, find attached picture
(effected area).

The LCD display screen has gone out and requires replacement. The radio has to come out of the vehicle. First determine the cost of the new screen (probably only from Ford - therefore expensive) as compared to the cost of a replacement radio. I have never replaced one from Ford, but most are the same. The screen is detachable from the radio. The cover detaches from the housing, and the screen detaches from the module it plugs into. Every is made of plastic and most parts snap together and requires a little prying to take apart. Therefore there is a good chance you are going to break something either during disassemply or reassembly. Be careful of static charge blowing out something on the new screen. My suggestion is to purchase a replacement radio and be happy. Then play around with the old one to see how much time you saved in the process.

BTW today I have to part the vehicel out of shade, in sun for about 6 hours, and when it surprised me when I saw the LCD lit up, as of the heat did some thing to the LCD something. The bulb for my radio went out so I cannot see the screen. It's a 2006 Ford Explorer all I want to know is how to change the bass, treble, and sound from front to back. I am not planning on buying what it needs to fix it or buying a new radio, I mostly just want to know how to change the bass! I barely use it but when I do I need the bass up! Please help me.
Palm the screen and it will come back on. Trust me. I have to do it all the time
