2006 Ford Explorer Drove Through Flash Flooding

Drove my 2006 Explorer v8 through rain water. It
won’t start. Took spark plugs out, turned engine
clockwise and pumped water out of the engine.
Still nothing! It just happen two days ago. Do you
think it’s done for? I’m a woman and of course I
don’t know anything about cars! Any and all help is
appreciated. My entire neighborhood flooded with
some parts as deep as 3 feet. Is there anything I
can try that can get it running again?

Thank you! Right now my mechanic put oil where the spark plugs are, and said he would try to get it going again in a few days. Hopefully it starts. The radio, gauges and lights all seem to be working. It’s just that it won’t start. He said he’s going to let it dry out before trying to turn the engine again.
