dash vent temperature

ive been working on a 2003 ford explorer for a friend of mine it had cold air blowing out of the right side of the dash
and warm air blowing out of the left side of the dash. i replaced the plastic blend door with a aftermarket blend door
from heater treater but the problem still exists have any advice

At the risk of stating the obbious, does the heater have duel zones? Is the drivers zone set to a much higher temp ??
