2002 ford explorer sun roof wont open , ideas other than fuse ?

when we got it the original owner said they had tried everything , checked the
fuse and its good, so maybe the motor ? is that common ?

get a tester and see if the motor gets power when you turn it on , if not then start back tracking the circuit , test the switch
