car starts but wont accelerate

The batteries got bad so I disconnected and drowe without it for ten hours.
Few days later engine starts but can accelerate it dies. There is engine check
on the dash. Knock sensor has been changed but no power to it. Can that be
computer ? please help since the car is in africa and  machanics are bad .

If you disconnected the battery and drove 10 hours on it you could have fried the alternator regulator What code did the CEL give? .. NOT THE COMPUTER

Sometimes it's cheaper to ask an expert before you do something that your grand father would have done, he would have been ok, but with these newer cars the battery is the surge protector for the PCM ABD the other modules and circuits.
