How to insert transmission shaft back in place

How can I insert transmission shaft correctly so torque converter seats
properly? I had to remove transmission to replace rear seal on motor. When I
removed it the torque converter stayed stuck on the flywheel .When I placed
torque converter back on shaft & trying to seat it, it will not seat properly even
though it clicked 3 times. I have tried turning it back & forward & wiggled torque
but it still extends about 5/8-3/4" past housing. I need to know how to get shaft
back in place

Well that is what you do, keep spinning one direction, from front of trany, clockwise, and pushing it into the transmission until it is seated all the way back. You shouldn't be able to get your fingers in behind it once it is seated all the way back.
