Yes, those locks are not part of the anti-theft system, the way the ignition key is. If you don't mind having more than one key for the trunk and glove box. One important thing to consider: If you have only ignition key, be sure to have a copy made NOW. It's easier and much cheaper to make a copy of a transponder key when you still have one working key. If you lose ALL transponder keys, then a new set has to be programmed into the vehicle which is a big expense. (Transponder keys are ignition keys that have a chip in them to mate with the vehicle's anti-theft system). I'm not sure what keyhole you are referring to on driver-side floor by seat - is that part of the center console? I've had a couple Taurus and don't recall any keyed items in that area other than the console.

Thank you for your advice about the keys. I found a car key locksmith in Auburn an we will see. The one on the floor is a double safety net if you need to tightly secure the trunk and the gas outside body part then you can push the lock down with the key that goes to the glove box and trunk and it locks it until you come back and using the same unlock it your trunk key will not unlock this once its locked you need same that you locked it with. weird huh. great but weird -- great because if visiting out of town clothes & whatever in the trunk will be safe. Thanks for your help.

As long as those locks are not part of the vehicle's anti-theft system, you can replace them with ones from a donor vehicle, as long as you don't mind having to use a different key to open them
