air condition

Asked by Busenmommy Jul 11, 2010 at 01:14 PM about the 2004 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I accelerate the air stops blowing out the vents and sounds like it is blowing through
the defrost. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix? Thanks

Does the same thing in my explorer.. Usually only under heavy acceleration or when I am climbing up the mountains. When I asked the mechanics at Ford about it they said that all of them do it. Something about disengaging non-essential components to reduce engine load during heavy acceleration. First Ford truck I have ever owned, so I am unsure how much of that comment is actually true.
