Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 escape . The water pump was
recently replaced . After the installation of the
water pump ,the car will not start . Prior to the
installation i didnt have any trouble with starting
the car .The battery works ,the lights work, checked
fuses etc..but it will not turn over . I tried jump
starting but will not start with that either . It tried to
turn over  when jumping the relay but didnt .I  put
the key in pushed brake .tried to put in neutral .but
it will not come out of gear.  What else could be the
problem ?

Sounds like something didn’t get plugged back in correctly. possibly one of the crank or cam position sensors. Or check battery leads. the battery connectors are fussy in these cars. May look tight but if there’s a small crack it won’t turn over. Seen it myself good luck
