HELP not sure what the problem is

I have a 2002 ford escape, a few weeks ago my radio started flashing on and off when I sat a light, yesterday I my car just lost all momentum, got it off the road and turned it off. tried to restart it and all my dash lights come on and my gauges move but car will not start. jumped it off, it started and tried to get back on the road and everything happened again. also a few times when i would start it, it made a beeping noise like it was a truck backing up
