What are the strenghts & weaknesses of the 2003 Vic?

Asked by W9BAG May 13, 2011 at 10:33 PM about the 2003 Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport

Question type: Car Customization

I just bought one today with 114K miles. Really clean car. I've had 4.6 V8's in the past, and I really like the platform.  What are the recommended upgrades to make this car REALLY run?

Actually there are many things that you can do to improve performance and fuel economy regardless of your mileage. The MZT mod, underdrive pullies, new COPs, better plugs, etc There are some more serious mods, if you have the cash, headers, exhaust, etc. If you are interested in learning about these things, the best Panther platform forum is crownvic.net. I have been a member there for over a year and the information you find is fantastic. Regarding mileage, my 2006 P71 (ex highway police) has 142,000 miles on it and runs better than my last car that was brand new. Mileage is irrelevant if maintenance was kept up.
