Radio and Fuses

Asked by GuruHNCRF Jul 25, 2019 at 02:05 PM about the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria 4 Dr LX Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria. I changed my radio and
as it was playing and it cut off. I checked the wire harness
and  the fuses in the radio and the fuse panel under the
driver side and they are good. Any advice would be great.

There's another fuse box under the hood that has a radio fuse in it as well. I believe it's the #3 fuse but not 100%. There's a diagram under the cover though.

I'm having a similar issue on a 2008 P71. I'm going to run a power wire off the battery and just power the head unit with that. I can still use the other connections. Not sure why it's happening but, the work around is easier than chasing an electrical issue.
