1994crown Vic. 50,000 miles on it. Idles rough and dies our randomly when at stop lights. Runs good on the highway.

Check the idle air control valve is clean and not plugged up. If it's bad replace it.

I guess it was built in 1991 but registered in 92. We looked all over and could not find the valve.

its attached to the intake manifold. Also according to the workshop manual do not clean it, that can damage it, just replace it if its bad

Thanks. Also was told that the O2 sensors could be bad. there are 2 of them.

You would see a trouble code in that case. I'd have those checked at any rate. Also check for vacuum leaks.
