California Edition Ford Mustang: #1 out of 400

Asked by SunnySkyyy88 Jan 24, 2024 at 12:52 AM about the 2006 Ford Mustang V6 Coupe RWD

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I have a 2006 California Edition Mustang. We
bought it straight off the lot in 2005. I know some
people have said it’s not worth too much mainly
because it’s not a GT, but out of curiosity, I was
wondering the worth if I were to sell it. It only has
about 81,000 miles, and my plate on the dash
shows that it is #1 out of 400 made. I wondered if it
being the first one who add any extra value. Any
answers are much appreciated!

Go to sites like Edmonds or TrueCar, or click SELL at the top of this page. You can put in all pertinent information to find market value of your car. The 1 of 400 thing might be a motivator for a Mustang guy, so I'd find local ford and Mustang owners clubs and advertise there. It's a nice looking car and I'm sure it's also nice to drive. There are a lot of people who put a lot of value in just that.

A friend just updated me on this car... The California Edition V6 was a California dealer package added to a V6 Pony Package, Premium Package, interior upgrade package and side stripe delete. There were only going to be 400 made (though we do not know how many were actually built). Dealerships would add the California Edition faux gas cap badge, serial plate on dash, racing stripes and chrome exhaust tip. The exhaust tip and racing stripes are the Ford Accessory stripes that were available for installation on any Mustang. These vehicles were only sold in Northern California, so you'll likely not get any price comparisons for such a small release quantity... A Mustang owners club is your best bet for this, and someone there might even contact ford customer service for you.
