2006 chevy trailblazer loses charge.

i have a new alt. and battery in my 2006 chevy trailblazer and the lights still get
dim and the needle goes from 14 to 9 while driving. all i can think of is chasis
ground ?????????????.

Did you clean the battery terminals and cable ends? Make sure the cables are on tight and not damaged?

test the voltage at the battery while the engine is running using a multimeter. you should have more than 13.4 V. if not then it is possibly the alternator. yes they can be bad right out of the box.

Make sure your alternator's belt is on correctly and tight. Also check the idler pulley for weakness. If OK, its probably the alternator that was installed.
