Voltage Meter Fluctuating in 2001 Silverado 3500

Asked by Cyote31 Jun 11, 2015 at 06:24 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LS LB DRW 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 Silverado 3500. After a
usual day of driving (20-30 miles, no I
don't drive a lot lol) the voltage meter
will read about 15-16 volts like the
volt meter should while driving. But,
now it after few minutes of driving,
the voltage meter will drop down to
about 12-13 volts and sit there
slightly wiggling back and forth.
What could be my problem here?
Thanks for any advice given.

Big red wire coming from the battery to the distribution box looks fine, not bubbled anywhere.

Sorry bout the late response. But I tried bending it like instructed and no crunching noises were heard.
