I have a ford secort that ran fine. Then one day I went to get in it and all it would do is start idle for a split second and die . And it will do it time after time

i have a 99 ford escort lx 5 speed new tranny and clutch. the other day i was going up the hill started to chug like i was in to high of a gear, stuck it in first still contiuned pulled over turned it off now it wont start it cranks tho, I checked everything it is getting spark and fuel. and all fuses are good. anyone have a clue? 1 Answer
battery is good i also tried jumping and popping the clutch, when i try starting it just keeps cranking
