Truck will not occasionally go into any gear

My 2001 Silverado will not go into gear. On various occasions it will not go into
any gear. When it happens I can turn the key off and restart it and then it will
work. It is the 8.1 motor with the Allison Trans. Does anyone know what might
be causing this?

I guess you could blindly replace or tap on any solenoids on the tranny or take it to a shop
