what is the recommended coolant for a 2006 silverado with 5.3 engine

my husband wants to flush the red coolant out and put in the green coolant What is the
right thing to do

I found you can't mix green & red anti-freeze. The green will make the red gunk up. However, you can flush the red out and replace with green. The green is supposed to be better for the gaskets.

Yes NEVER mix green and orange(dex-cool). If you put green in make sure ALL of the dex-cool is out of the cooling system.
