Abs system

Asked by Croftboy23 Mar 02, 2018 at 06:15 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 chevy silverado that I cannot
get the brakes to bleed. I replaced the
master cylinder, brake booster, front
pads, calipers and brake lines. I took it to the
mechanic and he said the abs needs to be
bled , so he tried that through his computer
system and said that I have recent codes of
transmission and traction control stored on
the truck that the abs won't bleed until those
are cleared. He said he deleted them but
they come back. So my question is does this
make sense just because there is past
codes for transmission and traction control
that the abs can't be bleed?

I would think only ABS codes would do that but who knows , if your pedal is real low bleeding wiih ABS activated may not be the answer ,what is your bleeding method ,? Does the pedal go to the floor ?
