Oil pressure drops after warm

Asked by silverdoe Apr 11, 2017 at 07:56 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: General

My 2005 silverado 5.3 oil pressure seems to drop
when driving. 45psi at cold start up in the morning
at idle, but about 20-25psi idle after driving a bit.
Im thinking it is the oil pressure sending unit, let
me know what you think.
Thanks

20-25 psi warmed up at a idle is good, this is normal for the oil pressure. As the rpm of the engine raises so will the oil pressure.
