Yes. They both use the 4L60e. Just ensure that the transmission is for a 2wd. The 4wd transmissions have a shorter tail shaft in order to bolt to the transfer case and will not work in your 2wd.

what about in 2002? is anything different between the 4.8 and 5.3 thats not just a bolt on or a program flash. i dont want to buy one for a 4.8 and have the ouput shaft or the stator be different or something like that.
