2004 Chevy Silverado truck bed switch to 2015 truck bed tail light problem

Asked by Von Sep 05, 2022 at 02:28 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We switched the truck beds but we can't figure out the wiring
for the tail lights. The only sequence that works for both lights
to work correctly blows the fuses. Has anyone else ever made
this type of switch that could help me with some info on how
to get everything to work correctly?

The 2004 may have shared the brake and directional , First find the ground then there's running lights and brake/directional , if they do share a bulb then the brake light runs through the directional switch , a multi tester is useful in these situations . Your experience may differ .
