Sure you can use glass cleaner, a blow torch, a big hammer or just about anything you can think up but, it is very likely they won't do any good. Get some throttle body cleaner and do it correctly.

Sorry I forgot to mention that their is no ammonia in the glass cleaner it's basically water and I ended up using brake cleaner and it did the trick

Brake cleaner is a good cleaner as well. (Cheaper too) Glad you got it taken care of.

I've never had that problem ever with brake cleaner. In fact the brand I use is residue free. I just looked.

And I need a new cat anyway I'm gonna go with a flownaster to go along with my headers and exhaust system

Okay, follow this closely...brake cleaner is for brakes, window cleaner is for windows, carb cleaner is for carbs, throttle body cleaner is for throttle bodies, etc. etc. etc. There is usually a reason that cleaners are made to clean specific things. If you use these cleaners for other than their intended purpose you risk screwing something up and costing yourself more money. Do it correctly or not at all. Rant over.
