Ok you have two different question going on here, if it is the front end shaking when you hit the breaks, then something is loose in the front end needing repair and a front end alignment. If it is your breaks and feel it in the pedal, then you need a break job, front rotors are warped.

In the lat ten years, has the brakes been worked on? I remember the rotors now are a one time turn rotor before replacement is needed, or sometimes due to the use and condition, they can't be turned. Since it is a truck, and it is uses as a truck is intended to be used, you may have heated up the rotors and they easily will warp. Drive very slow, roll down the windows, turn off the wife, kids, and radio, and driving very slow, gently put your foot on the park peddle. Do you hear any grinding or noise? Need pads. Do you feel the breaks grab and let lose only to grab again? New rotors also. Best way to tell is have them measured. They can only be turned to a set thickness or they will not be effective. rotors are less than a deductible on insurance when you bump into the big hairy dude in his Lexis. While the breaks are being checked, look at the wheel bearings, idler arm, tie-rods and tires. Make sure the tires are not starting to separate. I had that problem once. No one could find the vibration issue until I put on new tires, and they found the tread was letting lose. Hey my friend, it's only money.
