Do I need the MAP sensor?

Asked by RichieRich0 Aug 04, 2020 at 04:53 PM about the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to replace my intake mini fold recently. The
new intake manifold does not have a place to put
the Fuel Pressure sensor (MAP Sensor) which
would have gone directly on top of the manifold.

Without this I believe is why my truck is acting like it
doesn’t know how much or little fuel to I’ve it
causing the truck to stall out. Do I need that map
sensor or is there a way around it? Or do I need to
get another intake manifold that has a place for it?
