Seems to me there may be a short in one of the wires either that or the bulb is about to go. Before you go out and spend money on a new bulb take off the panel and check all the wires for splits or tears. IF you see that then a little electrical tape would be a quick fix but if there are no tears its most likely the bulb is bad.
