Rough idling with a/c on

Asked by GuruVRSF5 Sep 08, 2018 at 03:39 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When pickup is idling engine runs fine and steady
until I push recirculate button or a/c is turned on.
RPMs get very low and idles very rough almost
dies. Turn either of those off back to normal. Any
suggestions.

The compressor could be going causing extra drag on the engine. You may need a tune up. The fuel pump could be going and not giving you engine enough fuel to idle.
