Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a 1994 ford ranger that starts periodically.
One day it starts the next day it wont. So this
morning i disconnected the negative battery cable
for a few minutes then reconnected it and it
started. Now i did check the inertia switch and it
was fine. So could i have a ignition problem

My 93 has a similar issue, but I had a ton of critters living under the hood for a while. Lots of wiring has been replaced already, and plenty more to do. My guess is a wire starting to break, and taking the cable off then putting back on is temporarily making enough connection on the wire for the juice to flow.
