It sounds like your pads or shoes are metal to metal based on your description.

Some cheap pads do not last very long, the ceramic & metallic shoes make some noise but not grinding metal to metal noise.
Rear brakes on driver side make grinding noise when slowing down. Had them replaced not to long ago what could it be?
