What can make my 2000 silverado kill a fuel pump every 1000 miles? On pump 7 now in 7300 miles. The pumps will not run when removed an hooked straight to battery. Tried 4 different brands of pumps. Same every time truck starts and dies and pump will not kick on. Have 12.6 volts to pigtail. Change pigtail each time and have changed the relay once. What can cause this?

You may have done this, have you replaced the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator may be bad, cleaned fuel line,s,may be lines are blocked and put,s pressure on the new pump therefore burning them up,

Replaced fuel filter every time. Regulator is in the pump assembly. With new pumps we get 60 lbs pressure at the rail. Don't really have a good way to clean the lines. Thanks.

Do you run the gas tank empty a lot? An empty tank is hard on fuel pumps.
