Oil cap removal

Asked by Otego Jul 13, 2019 at 12:39 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The oil fill cap on my truck turns freely, but it will not come off.  I havn't tried to  pry it with a tool for fear of breaking something.  What is my next move??

So the top part probably separated from the lower section allowing the top portion to only turn? you might need to get a large set of channel locks to get around the cap, or a plumbers wrench?
