2000 Chevy parts for a 2008 gmc?

Asked by Browning5 Sep 19, 2017 at 11:03 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey there guys I'm new to this site but I've got a
2000 Chevy 1500 4x4 with a bilt up tranny and
transfer case. It's been changed to 4:10 gearing.
Question is what parts would I be able to steel off
the 2000 Chevy and put on the 2008 gmc? Say if
something goes on the gmc. Hope there is a few
power terrain parts that would match up with little
fab work.

If the 08 uses a 4l60e it would transfer over but I thought they changed transmissions at some point I that generation. Other than that not much. Wheels
