1999 Chevy Silverado 4wd service light turns on then turns off, what causes that?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning as I was preparing to leave,
when I started my truck, my service 4wd
light came on.  I restarted the truck and it
turned off.  Just wondering if I should look
into repair, tested the and and it was
functioning fine, maybe caused by the cold
as it is -19°C (-2.2°F).  Thoughts?

May be due to the cold. Just keep an eye on it. As long as the 4x4 is working it's ok.

Is this an electric shifted tranny? (Probably) Just hissy in the cold. There could have been moisture in the electrical plugs that froze?? If it keeps doing it You could clean the termials and put some dielectric grease in the plug! You'll know when It breaks, If you were in 4wd it could have been the alxe disconnect solenoid in the front end, froze and not responding? As tuff4x4 said just watch it.
