What Dual Exhaust Should I Put On My 2005 Monte Carlo LS?

Asked by Lowsdp Sep 17, 2013 at 05:21 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS FWD

Question type: Car Customization

In my 2005 Monte Carlo LS I have a V6 engine. I was wondering what dual exhaust
system I should get. I'm looking for a good sounding, really loud (but not illegal) and
deep tone. There is a catalytic converter underneath the car and I'm not sure if I would
be better off leaving it on or taking it off. I have heard that most Monte Carlo's with V6's
sound like a "dying cat" with a good exhaust but I'm not sure about the truth of that
statement and I'd like to steer clear of that. Please leave any helpful feedback, thanks.

leave it on or you will be illegal, run tails from the cat without a muffler for sound that's what ive done on a few, the cats muffle good enough, or a cat back magniflow system is nice

Thanks for your reply. I'm in the state of Georgia and in my location I can take off the cat converter and still be legal, so that wouldn't be a problem. I just need to know whether or not it sounds better with/without it.
