A click does not always indicate a starter problem. Need to check the battery condition, and the battery cables to insure they are clean, in good shape, & tight. Also should have the charging system checked if the battery is in good shape & fairly new, but just drained.

a rebuilt starter costs less than a new one- doing it yourself saves the cost of labor- a new starter, installed at the dealer could cost as much as $500-600- doing it yourself, rebuilt, could be as low as $150- but you get what you pay for-
