It sounds like a battery issue. Have the battery checked. If it checks okay, then have the alternator checked to make sure it is charging the battery properly.

It is also possible that the starter that was installed on the car is faulty. I've had this happen before. Have them check the starter that was just installed. the cylanoid may be bad on it.

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo. Before I turn off my car I turn off the blower (air/heat) before I exit my car. My monte carlo is a barrel v8. I have a problem, when i start it and it is idling it runs fine but when i go to put it in drive and try to run it it pops at the catylytic converter and it back fires and turns off and then it is hard to turn on. I have changed oil,oil filter,fuel pump, rubber hoses coming from carb, plugs and wires,distrubitor cap and rotor,fuel filter, and rebuilt carberator.
