I have a 99 Chevy Monte Carlo z34 with a series 2 3.8 v6. The engine has began running hot and pushing the coolant back out through the plastic coolant tank. What do you think could be the cause?

Defective thermostat, pump bad or going bad, fan cooling motor not working, system may need to flushed and cleaned.
