What is the fuel tank capacity?

Asked by Guru9D32HV Nov 20, 2020 at 03:03 PM about the 1994 Ford Ranger XLT Extended Cab 4WD SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1994 Ranger XLT 4x4 2 door Extended cab,or Super cab not sure which, with a 4.0 V6. My fuel pump went bad and I'm trying to fix it. The locking ring is metal not plastic but the tank is plastic. What capacity is it in case I have to replace the tank?

20 gallons, just tap the ring slowly, it should come free.

Thanks for the 20 gallons answer. It's rusted bad,I've been hitting it enough that it's broke off 2 of the tabs already. So I've been letting it soak in PB Blaster and WD40 for 2 days and tried it again today and half broke off another tab. It's rusted in there good. So you know I am trying to turn it counter clockwise. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be able to get it out without busting the tank, that's why I was asking about the capacity. I'll let it soak another day or 2 and try doing it slower and see if that helps.
