Depends on your position. A 4.0 V6 Jasper remanufacturered engine will run about 3500 installed with a 100K warrant and many years. A reman transmission, if needed, may be a little less expensive. If the rest of the vehicle is in good condition you will have a very reliable vehicle aot about 6K bucks. The mechanics on these older explorers are relatively simple to repair if you have the basic knowledge. Brakes are a snap as well as front end work.
