My '06 Camry blower fan (behind the glove compartment) stops once and awhile.

Asked by Ray Jul 28, 2017 at 11:19 AM about the 2006 Toyota Camry SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My '06 Camry blower fan (behind the glove compartment) stops once and
awhile. AC blows cold when it works. Sometimes i can tap the blower
housing and it will come on.  I replaced the blower and it worked fine for a
few years. Happened again so I replaced it about a year ago again.  Now it's
back to intermittently stopping and starting.  it will work for weeks then stop
every day for a week till I tap it.  Then yesterday, tapped and tapped and
nothing. Today, works fine as soon as i start the car.   Electrical short?
Demons? What's up with that?

The motor may be worn out. You might be able to replace the brushes but you will probably need to replace the blower motor.
