Have 89 corvette that wont start. Replaced starter relay still won't start. Jumped2 wires at relay junction starter does work . What else do i need to check?

Yes got it to start again then when i shut it off retried it nothing

So what are you going to do to fix it? If the ignition switch is bad, and maybe just an adjustment on the metal rod that runs to it, this would be why there is no power getting to the starter.

When you turn the switch, does the motor turn over? If not, you said it starts with a jump? or how did you get it started? Several things can be the problem. One is the ignition switch itself. Another could be erosion on the wire connections, or lose wires. Low battery or dead cylinder not allowing enough amps to let the computer start the can. You touched wires and got the spark test working. Was it at the starter with the switch on to the start position? If you have spark at the starter when you turn on the start switch, you need to check the starter itself. If a jump start allowed it to turn over the engine via starter, it may be a bad or low battery. Like I said, several things all need to be good to get it to work. Process of elimination.
