I am looking and asking about the same corvette, this 1986 corvette has a new engine and has some alterations done to it. It has stripped catalytic converters, some alterations done to the engine I'm not quite too sure of. It idles for 15 seconds and then dies, I don't know how or big of a problem this is to fix.

i am not to sure wich year chevy started to use what is called a , v.a.t.s. system for anti theft, problem as the systems got older they dont like to work to well, they use a coded pellet in the key, you can see it pretty clear, they have different ohm resistance, when they get older they get dirt and other junk on key and inside key lock, and if these do not match up perfectly by ohms the car willstat and shut off , also carring alot of keys on one key ring is bad news for that lock system, to much weight, you will have to have it scaned at chevy dealer to chek the system out. do not try to fix this yourself!!!!!!.
