Also a light bump with your hand(closed fist pinky down)right over the mech in hood sometimes will free up a stuck release.

mark this may have worked in your case but upon further in vestigation look at wires going to hood release I found a wire not hooked to release! kdw1984

get a new hood harnes,and save yourself the hassle of getting it open
