Hello mhobbs- Chevrolet used the Sting Ray designation from 1963 through 1967. After a one year break, the name came back for 1969, but the spelling changed slightly. The 1969 became a Stingray, not a Sting Ray. Good luck from Bovan.

The Stingray name started again in 1969 as bovan says, and ended in 1976. 1977 and on are not considered "Stingrays" by name but many people think the name refers to the entire group of similarly styled vetes from '68 to '82.

The Stingray body style (C3) ran from 1968 to 1982.
