Low of 6K high for a low mileage super clean 16K based on the east coast prices

I live in Michigan (yes the economic situation is in DIRE STRAITS right now) and I paid $12,000 for my L-48 automatic in 1998. Everywhere I look it appears that $12,000 is still a high price for a '79 Corvette. I agree with littlehorn, $8,000-$12,000 would be a good asking price for a good condition '79.
