what would cause my sc430 2002 lexus deceleration at constant speed no matter what speed I'm going?

Asked by ruditc Jan 08, 2015 at 10:03 AM about the 2002 Lexus SC 430 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

any time I'm driving no matter what speed at a constant speed no matter how fast, the car decelerates by itself with foot still depressed on gas pedal.  And then when accelerating slowly, there is loss of power.  There is no engine light on.

Sounds like it could be a faulty throttle linkage. or perhaps the butterfly in the throttle body is slipping? The computer would not monitor this particular area.
