Not good, could be a dampener problem, engine mount, driveline, even an internal engine problem. If you have to run it keep it out of that range until you can get it in and have it checked or it could wind up costing you big time.

The car's near twenty years old and Im guessing it has over 150,000 miles on it. That's enough time for the car to be basically worn out, even a Lexus. But, what causes symptoms like this could be attributable to lack of a tune-up. Maybe there's a misfire. Maybe there's compression loss or failing sensors in the engine. Might even be a worn out motor/transmission mount or a failing CV Joint. Have a mechanic who can actually see the car diagnose this, but don't wait... It could be an engine structural failure, like a damaged crankshaft or rod.

Could be the clutches in the auto tranny going bad . If it's a sports car then it was driven hard

Have changed the engine and gearbox mounts, had it tuned up(replaced all the spark plugs) and even replaced the both the front brake disks. Vibrating problem still there on acceleration. Stops vibrating once you take the foot off the gas pedal for a bit.

So you didn’t have a professional look at it? I do remember some transmission problems with those vehicles back then.
