Question type: General

What does the 4th digit of the VIN# mean when it's a G.  The examples I  have
found all seem to be numerical.

Thanks, but my vin is 194G79S709198 and I have researched it and cannot find any reference to a letter for the fourth digit. I'll try again but have had no luck yet. Thanks anyway.

Ed92626 The vin is most certainly 13 characters. The G turns out is a 6 . That 14 or 17 character info is wrong. My 62 has only 12 characters.

Yes. Whoever originally titled the car mistook the 4th digit for a G instead of a 6. I assumed the title and bill of sale were correct when trying to research the #. After checking the # myself, I found the error. Luckily I knew the previous owner and was able to get a new bill of sale with the corrected vin#. Thanks for asking.
